Cadets Canada

Situation

The Department of National Defence needed to replace and modernize the Cadet Harassment and Abuse Prevention Program (CHAP). The goal was to create a new program, Positive Social Relations for Youth, that better reflected current standards and supported cadets across Canada in both official languages.

The Challenge

This was a sensitive and high-responsibility project. The content needed to address serious topics with clarity and care, while remaining accessible and engaging for a youth audience. It also required translating over three years of research into a structured learning experience, ensuring consistency across English and French, and aligning with multiple stakeholders within a government environment.

What Was Done

I led the creative and art direction across both the interactive course and supporting print materials. This included shaping the overall visual approach, guiding the development of live-action video content, and ensuring consistency across digital and physical touchpoints. The experience was designed to make complex and sensitive material clear and approachable, while maintaining engagement for a younger audience. The result is a cohesive program that supports understanding and can be delivered consistently across training environments.
